Free Consultation: how to get butts in seats for your film

Published 12 days ago • 2 min read

Hello Reader,

Attention Filmmakers! Between now and May 15, I'm offering three lucky filmmakers a FREE consultation to develop a plan to get butts in seats for your film. Read on for details!

You've agonized over what to make a movie about, plus where and how to shoot it.

You've put your blood, sweat, and tears into getting the best equipment and crew.

You're going to spend hours and hours and hours editing it into the perfect little film.

...but then what?

How do you make sure your screenings don't look like this?

You need a marketing plan

Whether you're brainstorming the idea for a new film, in pre-production, production, or post-production, it's never too late OR too early to have a marketing plan to get your film seen.

How do you find the right audience? How do you make sure they're finding you?

What do you want to achieve with your film, and what do you need to do to achieve those goals?

Getting your film into film festivals is an important first step, but it does not guarantee you will find an audience, get press coverage, or land a distribution deal.

Even if A24 is producing your film, it's not guaranteed that they will spend the marketing dollars to connect your film to its audience and help you reach your goals. Fortunately, there's a lot you can do to move the needle at little to no cost by being proactive.

Book your FREE consultation to create your film's marketing plan

I'm offering a one-on-one free consultation to each of THREE (3) lucky filmmakers between now and May 15 to help you develop a plan to market your movie and reach your goals.

Seventh Row was instrumental in getting Patricia Rozema's Mouthpiece distributed outside North America. We can't even champion every film like that. You need to be your own champion, and I can teach you how.

If there's enough interest, I may do future free consultations, leading to a paid program.

...so I need to know that you're interested! Email me to let me know that you want me to help

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you make your next film successful!

Hello Reader. Last weekend, I saw Challengers TWICE and haven't stopped thinking about it. That's largely thanks to the fantastic direction by Luca Guadagnino and Josh O'Connor's scene-stealing performance. Whether you've seen Challengers, are hyped for it, or are just wondering what all the fuss is about, now is a great time to revisit two seminal works by Guadagnino and O'Connor: Call Me by Your Name and God's Own Country. The books also make for a great gift for the Guadagnino-O'Connor...

Hello Reader, This week, watch one of the best documentaries of the year by the filmmaker who inspired Seventh Row's thinking on creative nonfiction, Penny Lane: Confessions of a Good Samaritan. Virtual tickets are available WORLDWIDE until Monday at noon. The film is still seeking distribution, so this may be your only chance to see it for some time (or at all).
